Back at the Wall - Ralph Lauren Sunglasses Giveaway

I found myself back at the kitty graffity wall for more outfit shooting fun. It was one of the first really warm days here, where we actually had to take off the heavy coats.

I still layered the heck out of it. Wore my grey blazer over a military style button down shirt (I did mention I have lots of those, right?) over a t-shirt dress. The whole mess was then accompanied by two scarfs. As we say, one is none and two is better than one, savvy? "One is none" is very handy when you want to eat something you shouldn't ... but hey, one is none so you aren't actually eating or drinking or buying anything. Just kiddin, don't use this at home.

Below the Skyscraper - Funky Leopard Leggings, An Outfit Quickie

I wore these fancy, funky leopard print leggings together with the grey kangaroo pocket knit dress awhile ago for a coffee date in the city with my friend Daniela, who also took these epic pictures.

Keeping this brief today, the little munchkin is sick and time is in short supply. Also he hogs my laptop for watching She-Ra, Princess of Power. Whatever distracts him from scratching is great.

Links a la Mode - March 26th

The thing I love most about fashion blogging is that it’s rarely only about clothes. It’s about the cultural traditions behind an outfit, using your creativity to create a whole new look, or to discover the real personalities behind style icons. This week’s roundup is enlightening in so many ways. We learned that Nigerian women really know how to do it up for weddings, that two skirts worn together can look very chic, that Anna Wintour is lovely during an interview (and might even tell you your second-hand dress is pretty), how to survive a shopping break… read on for these educational tidbits and so much more!

5 Tips for Shopping Fashion Online - The Closet Conundrum VII

Or ... I am making mistakes, so you don't have to.

Let's face it. Online Shopping has become an integral part of our culture. I do it, even tho I love browsing real shops and won't buy certain products online. However, some of my favorite shops have no brick & mortar store near where I live, so that's that.

Today I wanted to share with you some things I've learned about minimising the risk of fashion mis-purchases when you cannot actually touch the item or try it on before paying. Most of this has come to me by first hand experience, a.k.a trial & error, hence the introductory sentence.

Flowers, Stripes, White and Blue = Spring Mood - SS 15 collection by Whit

Since last Friday we have officially entered the spring season, so I found it fitting to start showing you some SS15 collections that I noted during the fashion weeks last September.

This collection represents a lot of the proclaimed trends for this Spring and Summer 2015. It has stripes, it has blue, it has flowers, it has window pane, it has white lace/eyelet and it has culottes. Talking of which, go here to see how I styled these trend pants during 2014.

Vogue it Up - Houndstooth and Funky Tights

As I've said the other day, I love the posing part of taking outfit pictures. Maybe it is my comitrical (comic theatrical) side, but I'm usually having a lot of fun. I'm a fashion blogger, whome am I kidding about not posing for pictures? So I sing "Vogue" by Madonna to myself and get on with it. Showtime.

"Ladies with an attitude, fellows that were in the mood, don't you stand there, let's get to it, strike a pose, there's nothing to it. Vogue." - Madonna

Touching the Clouds - Editoral

Touching the clouds. I was captured by this editoral not so much because of the clothing itself but how it is styled in the pictures, because of little details like the posing, the hair, the jewelry the model is wearing, especially the thumb ring in the photo where she is sitting on the ground. Obviously. "Rule of Thumb"

And I think the photographer did an awesome job capturing mood with the stormy clouds as backdrop.

5 Tips to Pull Off a Shopping Break and 5 Reasons Why I Do It - The Closet Conundrum VI

In this new installment of the beloved Closet Conundrum Series, we are going to talk about spending bans. I am sure the concept of a shopping break isn't new for most of you. A lot of people do this, and yes, I am one of them. I am going on spending breaks at least twice a year. This year I did my first one secretly in January.

My rules for them are fairly simple. No money spend on clothing, accessories or decorative cosmetics for 30 days. If I do really have to replace an item I can do that - and no, having a hole in 1 t-shirt but 5 others left doesn't count.

Ain't She Dapper? - The Button Down Shirt and the Kerchief

I've realized the other day that I have an enormous (for my wardrobe size) amount of button down shirts. True is, I love using them, especially in winter together with either sweaters (as talked about here) or with cardigans, like in todays look. For this fashion love, in part, I blame the fact that I am drawn to dressing like a man. There, I said it.

10 Ways to Save Money on Fashion and Still be Trendy - The Closet Conundrum V

So in the series "The Closet Conundrum" we previously went over a lot of questions you can ask yourself when you are actually already in the shop ( here and here ), in order to help you with the final decision on whether to purchase an item of clothing or not.

Today let's go over some tips on how to stay up to date fashion wise and/or keep your own style fresh and trendy on a budget. Some of these things can be done before or without setting foot in a shop or visiting a retailer website respectively.

Slouchy Pinstripes That You Don't See

Do you sometimes have days were no real coherent thought wants to form when you need it? This is one of these days for me. I find it very hard to concentrate on the matter at hand today. So please excuse me if the post is as much of a hodge podge as the look is.

Flowers, Birds & Hearts - Wearing Spring

So who in the Northern Hemisphere, besides me, is diggin the current Spring vibe? Isn't it f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c?! I feel like a different person when the sun is shining and the temperatures rise. It is no secret that the winter climate here generally is not to my liking. There's something profoundly uncomfortable about wet cold (you don't say)

And so, in honor of this wonderful occasion, in today's outfit I am wearing Spring in form of this very light, pastel blue, flowers and birds print sweater from *Oasap*. Did I mention I love their sweater and top selection? The front panel is actually organza like material, so it will be very nice to wear all spring.

Spring 2015 Couture by Ulyana Sergeenko - Character Templates from a Fairy Tale

There is very little I would find the possibility to wear in my current life in this SS15 couture collection by Ulyana Sergeenko, but I love looking at it. It's beautiful. These are creations right out of a fairy tale or movie. Capturing, enchanting, dresses that make a character out of the person wearing them, that evoke scenes and stories in your mind just by looking at them.

Milan Fashion Week - Favorites and Thoughts

This morning I read an article at Business of Fashion (BoF) called Milan's Ugly Beauty. It talks about the staged "uglyness", like for example greasy and messy hair, that is used more and more by designers (and certainly not only those showing in Milano). Certain brands, labels or designers have always done this, because it was their thing from the start, or because their clients belong to a more edgy minded group.

How to: Wear Culottes Year Around - The Remix Compendium I

Like it or not, culottes are here to stay for at least another year, if we are to trust the so called "runway trends". They have made an appearance in many fashion shows for Fall/Winter 2015/16 so far and I am sure we will also see them on the Paris runways. So I think it is fitting that they are going to kick off my new semi regular series.

I've been (purposely) remixing a lot of my clothing in the outfits I've shown you on this blog, because that is really what I do in my daily life. By now, I've accumulated enough different versions of styling one piece to start this series of "How to wear something X different funky ways" posts.

Black Hole Sun - Ralph Lauren Sunglasses, a Black Shirt Dress, Boots and Gold Foil Leggings

I have been searching for a pair of futuristic seeming visor sunglasses like these for what accounts for ages in the lifespan of a fashion trend. Of course, if we measure it compared to the in lifespan of a sun/star, then it sort of didn't even happen.
