Summer into Fall - A Dress Transitioned

Today I want to show you how I transition one of my favorite dresses from this Summer into Fall. Last time you've seen me wearing this dress on the blog, it was August and the temperatures were easily double what they are now.

Pennette Saporite con Rucola

I've really started to enjoy cooking, but since my schedule is hectic most days, the greater part of my meal preparing has to be something that can be done fast. So here is another very simple and quick Pasta recipe. You can either prepare it in the vegetarian or in a vegan version. Last time I did it, I had an in between, as I substituted the milk for rice milk but kept the Feta.

Bergamo Alta - And Distressed Jeans, Layered Lace

Last Sunday we visited Bergamo Alta, the old medieval & renaissance town part of Bergamo, which is located upon a small hill. You can reach it by foot or a small train, as in general only people who live there are allowed in with the car. Much easier to just park in the city below.

Me and a very old door

It's beautiful and definitely worth a visit should you happen to be in the area and time permitting. If you do, I would suggest to at least go back down by foot, as I found it nice to go through the old city gate and follow the old stairs. The view on the city down below is great as well.

After the Shopping Break - Fall / Winter Knit Wish List

And I've done it! Actually, I cannot believe how fast September went by. One factor surely is the new rhythm we have to get used to now, with my son going to school. Which was also a wee help with the no shopping thing as I didn't have as much free time as before. Unlike before, now he's only gone for a couple of hours in the morning, barely enough to do anything, let alone wanting to drive somewhere for extensive shopping. Another thing that helped is that I filled any free time left with reading, learning and starting a new martial art.

Monte Maddalena

Today I'm going to let mostly the pictures do the talking. These are from a Sunday trip maybe three weeks ago. We went up the Monte Maddalena, which is the mountain just to the north of Brescia. Up there we did one of the easier hikes through the forest, which takes about one hour.

I was wearing the ... chinos. Hah! They are just too darn good for everything. And in a last hooray to summer, a tank top with lace back. Which by the way, is a great layering piece too, as you soon will see. Plus my trusty hiking companions, the Puma sneakers. They work well enough for easy hikes like we do at the moment.

5 Ways to Becoming or Staying Fit on a Budget

Before I was pregnant with my son, I didn't move. I tried to make sure my weight didn't go out of control by watching not what I ate but how much of it. After I gave birth, I changed my eating habits a bit due to breast feeding, but it wasn't until after I stopped, that I really cut out the crap.

You see, I was left with an out of proportion body. And I had two options. Plastic surgery, or moving my ass and reshaping by exercising. Well three. I could have left it as is and "accept it". Not sure I'd ever really would have learned to truly love me that way. Maybe. There's no way of telling now.

Old Pinstripes

Admittedly these pictures have been taken in spring, but then the weather became very warm within short time and it didn't feel right posting them anymore. Now the weather is once again at that point, so I figured they might as well fit now.

The blazer is surprisingly cozy and warm, and whilst I love my grey one and my black one, they both feel way thinner and colder material wise. You may remember the pants as being thrifted and the top has made an appearance more than once (here layered belowhere with midi skirt).

I Am Not A Minimalist

I realize when reading my posts, where I'm talking about decluttering and "not buying" or well, "buying less", the idea could come up that I'm a minimalist. And I've pondered the question to see how I feel about it. Am I a Minimalist? Yes and No. I certainly have found that I am happier with less things, but that doesn't stem exactly from wanting to make rigid lists like "XY hanger/items closets" or "I only own 100 items total" or "Etc" work in my life at all costs.
